How is organic orange flower (neroli) water produced?

Our potent orange flower water is produced in the spring in Morocco from individually picked neroli flowers. The flowers are distilled straight away in a traditional copper distiller, known as an alembic. 

Characteristics

Orange flower water is described by perfumers as the ‘princess of all flower fragrances’ and the aroma can be described as ‘sparkling, youthful and romantic. This floral water is bursting with aroma character, citrus, floral, fruity and a nectar sweetness. The exotic scent is distinctive and long lasting. Neroli water is known for reducing anxiety and for its uplifting effect on the mood as well as its calming qualities, especially in women.

Using organic orange flower water for skin care

Use neroli flower water with a natural sea sponge as a cleanser and toner to remove traces of makeup and everyday pollutants. Please visit our face care sponge page to find out which sponge is best for your face care.

Soak a piece of cloth or a pre-dampened sponge with orange flower water and gently wipe over the face neck and hands to cleanse and tone the skin. Alternatively use a spray mister to apply the floral water, massage it into the skin and allow it to dry on the skin naturally.

Neroli water has cooling properties and can be used as a cooling and freshening mist on the body or to cool skin which has been overexposed to the sun or wind. It is excellent for cooling the skin during hot flushes. Our stock is available with a pump spray fitting for fast application.

Neroli water is also used as a make up spray to help set make up and some people use it beneath foundation.

With its natural antimicrobial, antiseptic and anti fungal activity it can be used to clean minor wounds and scrapes.

Use as a natural aftershave to benefit from the astringent and scent properties.

Hair care with neroli water

Apply to the scalp as a prewash treatment to help control dandruff and to reduce the production of excess sebum and to promote healthy growth.

Spray directly on the hair to add extra shine and to protect the hair from the elements.

Comb though the hair to reduce frizz and as a detangling aid. To maximize the detangling properties, combine with our organic marshmallow root.

A neroli scented hand wash

In the Middle east orange flower water is placed on the dinner table as used a scented hand wash before and after eating finger foods.

Using neroli water to clean the lips

Both the neroli flower water and rose water are both excellent for cleaning and reconditioning dry lips. Spray some on the lips and rub the lips with 1 or 2 inch silk fina sponge until the floral water has evaporated, also rub slightly on the inside of the lips also to remove all staining from food and drink. Once the floral has completely evaporated, the lips will be smooth and comfortable. Now apply argan lip balm for the smoothest most comfortable results.

Neroli water and the mind

Known as a calmative (sedative to calm nerves and anxiety), and hypnotic (aiding sleep). Try neroli water as a pillow spray, or before meditating, mindfulness exercises, gratitude practices, journaling etc.

Other uses

Use as a room spray or sprayed lightly onto carpets of soft furnishings to create  a natural summer fragrance.
