How is our lavender floral water made?

Our lavender water is produced by a traditional farming family who have been excelling at lavender water production for many generations. The lavender water is not only organic, but also certified AOP (Appellation d'Origine Protégée), a designation given to districts in France which are famous for the quality and uniqueness of their produce.

The purple-blue flowers are picked from July, in the mornings when they have developed the highest concentrations of active botanicals and then the flowers are dried before distillation begins. Our pure organic lavender floral water is intensely scented with a more enduring scent that other that we tested.

Characteristics of pure organic lavender water

A very clean, refreshing, sweet floral aroma. We found that this source of lavender water had a longer lasting scent than others of comparable quality.

Using lavender floral water

Skin

High in antioxidants, lavender water is used as a skin cleanser, to sooth and invigorate the skin and to regenerate healthy skin cells.
Use in the same way as rose water as a cleanser, toner or spritz.
Mix with rhassoul clay to enhance detoxification and regenerating powers during face washing or for face masks.
Use alone as a skin cleanser or combine with rose water to make a bespoke toner cleanser for drier more delicate skin or with witch hazel for oilier skin.
Use as a natural aftershave to reduce shaving rash and help against ingrown hairs (using our hemp oil soap will also reduce the risk of shaving rash and give an excellent result!)
Spray on hot areas of the body during episodes of hot flushes.
Due to its anti-microbial nature, lavender water is friendly and even beneficial for skin troubled by acne, eczema, psoriasis, itchy skin and dry skin and it can be used as an after sun, on burnt skin, heat rash, skin afflicted by insect bites and even as a light deodorant.
This floral water repels mosquitos and calms inflamed skin making it ideal as a natural aftershave. Just rub or spray it onto the skin and let it air dry.
