Product Description:
Organic Neem oil, a cold pressed oil made from the seeds of the neem tree, has been used for thousands of years for cosmetic use, in natural remedies and for plant care. From treating the skin, hair, scalp, nails and teeth, and even as a navel oil, neem oil is a truly versatile cosmetic. Neem oil is known for its distinctive sharp, pungent aroma. With it being nearly solid at room temperature, we provide it in a glass jar, so you can access it easily at any time, even if you just need one tiny drop. Neem oil is rarely used neat, most often it is diluted in another carrier oil or in a mixture of soap and water.
Ingredients
INCI Neem Oil (Melia Azadirachta indica Seed Oil), cold pressed from the seeds.
Properties
Antifungal, antiseptic, anti-inflammatory, high in emollients and high in antioxidants compounds such as triglycerides and triterpenoids. High in Vitamin E to help with skin regeneration. High in vitamin C to encourage the growth of natural collagen. High in omega 9 oil – ideal for softening the skin, tackling wrinkles, areas of dark pigmentation and stretch marks.
Neem oil has a very strong aroma, described as musty, garlicky or like mustard but once the neem oil has been diluted by a carrier oil, this diminishes and the scent can be modified further by adding a few drops of essential oil such as lemon, lemongrass, rosemary, lavender, eucalyptus or tea tree oil.
Neem Oil Uses
Houseplant Wash and Insect Spray
Add 1 teaspoon of soap and 1L of warm water. Shake until the soap is dissolved, then add 2 teaspoons of neem oil. Shake again and use with 48 hours.
Nail Treatments
Mix Neem oil with a plain ointment or with a carrier oil at 3% and apply to nails and cuticles daily. Best applied with a small brush. Add a few drops of essential oil of lemon and myrrh if your aim is to reduce nail discolouration.
Teeth - Oil Pulling
Add a few drops to warm water and swish around the mouth and between the teeth for a few minutes. Take care not to swallow the oil.
Toothpaste Ingredient
Add a drop to toothpaste – it helps to prevent plaque build up and can help against gingivitis.
Scalp treatments
Helps with dandruff and itchy scalp. Improves hair growth achieving grow thicker, longer, stronger hair. Helps against the greying of hair. Dilute the Neem oil in a carrier oil using one part of Neem oil to 10 parts of carrier oil, massage into the scalp and leave for 30-60 minutes. Wash out.
Hair treatments
Dilute the Neem oil in a carrier oil using one part of Neem oil to 10 parts of carrier oil, massage into the ends of the hair to reduce the formation of split ends. Add a few drops to your brush or comb and comb down the shaft of the hair to reduce frizz.
For nits, dilute the Neem oil in a carrier oil using one part of neem oil to 10 parts of carrier oil. Massage into the scalp, cover the hair and leave overnight. Sleep with a cover over the pillow such as a towel. Comb the hair with a nit comb to remove nits. Wash out the Neem oil mixture out with soapnut liquid. Repeat every 5-7 days until the infestation is clear.
Face Wash
Add a few drops of Neem oil to water as a face wash to help combat acne.
Skin Care
Known for its anti-inflammatory, antimicrobial, and soothing properties, making it beneficial for managing various skin conditions, may help alleviate eczema and psoriasis, reduce redness and irritation, soothe dry and itchy skin and address ringworm and athlete’s foot. It is also used to lighten areas of deep pigmentation. Neem oil also is also beneficial for acne, where it helps to control sebum product. Dilute with a carrier oil at 1:10, that is one part of neem oil with ten parts of carrier oil such as organic Argan oil, also known for its anti-ageing effects for a synergistic effect.
Face Mask
Add one teaspoon of Neem oil to 2 tablespoons of Rhassoul or green clay. Mix and pour on hot water to form a soft paste. Apply to skin. For best results keep the face mask damp by covering the face with a damp piece of muslin or spraying with water from a spray mister or floral water.

In traditional Indian medicine, the navel is considered the gateway to life, having once held the umbilical chord. Still in adults, the navel is centre to some 72,000 veins, nerves and organs around the abdomen and ligaments which link to the liver. Substances placed on the navel, following what is known as the Pechoti Method, navel oiling or nabhi chikitsa, are believed to be absorbed into the bloodstream. The use of various oils is claimed to help with detoxification, digestive issues, cramps, weight loss, pain relief, and can improve the health of the body and mind. The use of Neem oil for navel oiling is reputed to help to clarify the skin and to help resolve acne.
Start by cleaning the navel. Lay down, then apply enough drops of diluted Neem oil to more of less fill the navel. Over the course of 5-8 minutes, gently massage into the navel and the skin around the navel in a clockwise direction.
Insect Repellent
Dilute with carrier oil and add essential oils of citronella which are known to deter insects such as lavender, rosemary, lemon, etc.

Home formulations: Add to natural soaps, shampoos, creams, oils and lotions and homemade insect repellents for its protective properties, generally at 5% or 1:20, one part Neem oil to twenty parts carrier oil.
Patch test
Apply diluted Neem oil to a patch of skin such as the inside of the elbow for the duration of the treatment you wish to pursue. Then wash the solution off. Assess the skin over the next 24 hours to see if any irritation occurs. If irritation does occur, cease usage.
Storage
Store in cool dry place.
Storage 6 months to one year. Keep in glass jar with lid tightly closed, in a dark and cool place. Use within 6 months after opening.
Biodegrades rapidly with rain fall and sunlight.
