The Honeycomb Sponge for cleaning
For general cleaning choose the versatile honeycomb. The honeycomb has a high water carrying ability and good control. It is the easiest sponge to clean and dry. Whether with washing up, window cleaning or washing the car, a natural sea sponge gives you the edge. We find that the the best sizes for washing up are from 5 inches. For window cleaning and cars, the most popular sizes are the 6 and 7 inch honeycombs.
The Sea Grass Sponge
Another contender for general household cleaning, such as wiping tiles after a bath or shower is the sea grass sponge. The 5 or 6 inch sea grass sponges are best suited for bathroom cleaning.
The Hard Flat, abrasive triangular sponges
For detail cleaning, select from the hard elephant ear triangles with a flat profile. With their firm, slim body and coarse, slightly abrasive surface, these sponges can slip in and out of air vents, clean detail around toilet seats and prevent water marks on taps. Keep these sponges flat - the fibres are quite brittle and these sponges don't like being bent! The surface of this sponge species is surprisingly rough - in the past this type of sponge was rubbed on the skin for shaving!

For maximum absorbency and mopping up spillages the sea wool has the highest water carrying capacity of all the sponges. The sea wool sponge can be very useful to absorb water such as in fridges and for quickly cleaning up liquid spillages. Howver, the sea wool sponges are generally fragile when compared to a honeycomb sponge. They wouldn't be suited to general cleaning.

I originally purchased this sponge to clean between the keys on the computer keyboard, but instead , I tried it on the water trough of a c-pap mask which is really tricky to clean with a lot of tight corners.Anyway,it worked a treat and got it looking cleaner than it ever has before,really,really pleased!!
I love this sponge! It is soft but does the job for dishes and wiping surfaces. I still need a scourer of course. It is a bit small. If you can get bigger ones, I'll do that next time but its great

I ordered a six inch sea grass sponge from the “sponges for cleaning” section as there were none left in the “sponges for bath and shower” section -do people really use these for cleaning their homes? This sponge,like the previous one I ordered,is so beautiful,squidgy,soft and lather-Inducing I’m afraid the only thing it will be cleaning is me in the shower!!!!🚿
