Step 1: Gently cleanse and prepare

Moisten the sponge with clean water until soft, squeeze out the excess, then add a little rose water. Lightly wipe over your lips to remove surface residues.

On comfortable, intact lips, a very gentle pass can also help lift loose flakes, leaving a smoother surface for your tint. There is no need to scrub or chase every trace of dry skin.

If your lips are cracked, bleeding, sore or inflamed, skip exfoliation and colour. Focus on gentle care rather than rubbing delicate skin.

Step 2: Create your own Aker el Fassi colour

Aker el Fassi is a traditional Moroccan botanical tint made with dried red poppy petals and pomegranate peel, presented in a terracotta pot.

Lightly dampen a clean lip brush or fingertip, then gently rub it over the pigmented surface. Apply a thin layer to your lips and build gradually to your preferred intensity.

Your choice of liquid influences the shade. Plain water gives warmer terracotta tones, while the included rose water can bring out redder tones. The final result varies with your natural lip colour, the amount of pigment and the liquid used.

This is not a conventional wax-based lipstick. It is a moisture-activated tint that lets you start lightly and make the colour your own.

Step 3: Finish with argan lip balm

Once the tint has settled, gently press a small amount of argan lip balm over the top.

Made with virgin argan oil, beeswax and gum acacia, the balm softens the feel of the lips and adds a comfortable, lightly glossy finish. Apply with a light touch to avoid moving the colour, and top up as needed throughout the day.
