The Honeycomb Sponge - Hyppospongia communis, is the most popular bath and shower sponge. No wonder, it is soft, durable, easy to care for seriously good at cleaning the skin. After use the skin feels smooth - almost polished. Make every shower and bath the best experience of your day!
The honeycomb is an easy sponge to control too, making the smaller sizes of 2 inches for eye care, up to 4 inches great for gentle face care. For strip washing, washing at the sink or with a bucket, such as when caring for for disabled people, a 4 or 5 inch sponge, makes the process enjoyable and highly effective.
For showering bathing we recommend a 5 inch sponge minimum, a 6 or 7 inch sponge is in our opinion, preferred.
Larger sponges such as 8 inches upwards, are heavy when full of water and require two hands to control them. We think that 10 inches is the largest that could be used in the bath, because the weight of the water contained in the sponge can put a strain on the structure and become increasingly difficult to handle or control and the sponge may begin to split.
Larger honeycombs are available, but we would suggest they might serve a more decorative function!
