  • Cleans and whitens the teeth by supplementing the composition of healthy enamel (not by bleaching). Consequently it takes several months for the full colour improvement to take place, although you will begin to see the improvement much sooner.
  • Strengthens and tightens gums, helping to prevent bleeding gums. Reduces inflammation of the gums.
  • Inhibits microorganisms representing Gram-positive bacteria like (Staphylococcus aureus and Streptococcus mutans), Gram negative bacteria like (Escherichia coli and Pseudomonas aeruginosa) and pathogenic yeast (Candida albicans) due the presence of juglons and glycocides.
  • Increased pH (making the saliva less acid) and reducing corrosion of enamel and dentine.
  • Reduces the adherence of bacteria by the presence of Polyphenols.
  • Keeps the mouth feeling fresh after use as a mouth wash for up to 3 hours after rinsing by reduced total streptococcal counts in salivary samples.

General Advice

We encourage our customers to use a mixture of methods and techniques for cleaning the teeth to get a range of benefits.

We have several types of toothbrush: the Light Activated Ionic Brushes (Solar) which use light to create a charge to remove plaque and cleans the bucal surfaces.

Traditional Boar Bristle Toothbrushes

Tree Roots – Miswak Sticks which are a brush, toothpaste all in one and can be used to create mouthwash.

Olive Tree Sticks – again a toothbrush / toothpaste

Ultra Ventilated Green Clay to make toothpaste or mouthwash – to help detox the gum and tissues, especially with mercury fillings.

We also sell several types of floss: Plain Silk Radius Floss

Slightly minty Silk Floss by Dental Lace – these come in a glass vial and refills are available
Charcoal Bamboo Vegan Floss by Dental Lace, again in glass vials with refills available.

That’s so good to hear that you got relief. Unfortunately abscesses have a tendency to return, so it is wise to see a dentist when you do get the opportunity.

I had an abscess in my mouth a week or two ago. I’ve never had one before. It’s impossible to see a dentist here at the moment, so I used the walnut bark and green clay on it, took echinacea and it’s completely cleared up in just two or three days. I’m mightily impressed!! I was in so much pain I couldn’t eat. It’s great to be able to have this first aid kit to hand.

I just want to say, how happy I am with the walnut bark powder and green clay. After seeing a dentist about a poorly molar which will at some point need removing, my gum inflamed into a huge boil, the largest I have ever seen. I got some relief by putting the walnut bark powder on the swollen gum and then used it as a mouthwash. After a day or too, I decided to try the green clay too – so I put a blob of green clay mixed with a little walnut bark powder and a little bit of turmeric on the gum, removed it after 15 minutes and repeated. Almost straight away I could feel the heat reducing. I then slept with the green clay mix next to the tooth. To my utter amazement and great relief, the huge boil shrunk back completely. I have continued with the treatment a bit more as I am going travelling soon and don’t want it to come back. Not only does the whole tooth feels more stable, resilient and healthy again but all my gums feel calmer and healthier than they have in a long time. I am so grateful. I wonder how many people could benefit from these old natural remedies? Yes, I have packed the walnut bark powder and the green clay already!

I’ve got to tell you that this Walnut Bark Powder is absolutely fantastic. I felt it working on my gums the first time I used it. I have tried lots of products over the years from healthfood shops and nothing has helped like this. My gums look and feel so much better already. I’m just amazed.
