How is organic orange flower (neroli) water produced?

Our potent orange flower water is produced in the spring in Morocco from individually picked neroli flowers. The flowers are distilled straight away onsite.

Characteristics

Orange flower water is described by perfumers as the ‘princess of all flower fragrances’ and the aroma can be described as ‘sparkling, youthful and romantic. This floral water is bursting with aroma character, citrus, floral, fruity, a tiny bit spicy, a treacle sweetness with green earthy aromas too. The exotic scent is distinctive and long lasting and it is known for reducing anxiety and for its uplifting effect on the mood as well as its calming qualities, especially in women.

Using organic orange flower water on its own

Skin

Use orange flower water with a natural sea sponge as a cleanser and toner to remove traces of makeup and everyday pollutants.

Soak a piece of cloth or a pre-dampened sponge with orange flower water and gently wipe over the face neck and hands to cleanse and tone the skin. Alternatively use a spray mister to apply the floral water, rub it over the skin and allow it to dry on the skin naturally.

Orange flower water have cooling properties and can be used as a cooling and freshening mist on the body or to cool skin which has been overexposed to the sun or wind and for cooling during hot flushes.

With its natural antimicrobial, antiseptic and anti fungal activity it can be used to clean minor wounds and scrapes.

Use as a natural aftershave to benefit from the astringent and scent properties.

Hair

Orange flower water can also be mixed with rhassoul clay for extra special face masks, skin cleansing and hair washing.

Apply to the scalp as a prewash treatment to help control dandruff and to reduce the production of excess sebum

Spray directly on the hair to add extra shine.

Hands

In the Middle east orange flower water is placed on the dinner table as used a scented hand wash before and after eating finger foods.

Lips

Both the orange flower water and rose water are both excellent for reconditioning dry lips. Spray some on the lips and rub with the finger, a 1 inch silk fina sponge until it has evaporated, also rub slightly on the inside of the lips also to remove all staining from food and drink. Once the floral has completely evaporated, the lips will be smooth and comfortable. Now apply argan lip balm for the smoothest most comfortable results.

Mind

Known as a calmative (sedative to calm nerves and anxiety), and hypnotic (aiding sleep).

Other uses

Use as a room spray or sprayed lightly onto carpets of soft furnishings to create  a natural summer fragrance.
