About Organic Alcohol Free Witch Hazel

While everyone is familiar with the  rose, some might be surprized, that witch hazel water is the steam distillate  of the leaves bark and twigs of a shrub or small tree which grows in North America. Witch Hazel is high in tannins, quercetin, kaemferol and eugenol and gallate.

Although witch hazel is used by North American Indians for inflamed skin, itchy skin and to fade  bruises and blemishes. It is known for its astringent and anti-bacterial properties. By appreciating how these ingredients are used on their own, it is possible to formulate a combination which is perfect for your skin type and method of use. We have now obtained Organic and Raw Which Hazel, 100% pure, full strength and due to it being naturally high in terpenes, it contains no added alcohol. This pure witch hazel is totally unlike conventional witch hazel, which can contain upto 25% of pesticide laden grain alcohol, redenering it unsuitable for use near the eyes and leaving an unpleasant taint of degrading alcohol on the skin – Our stock is, pure, freshly produced and full of wild character: Leafy, smokey, earthy, almost burn earth and barky. It is like no other witch hazel we have ever had before and we really welcome it to our range. This witch hazel is distilled in Austria.

Using Rose Water or Orange Flower Water on its own

Soak a piece of cloth or a pre-dampened tiny sponge with rose water or orange flower water and gently wipe over the face neck and hands to cleanse and tone the skin. Alternatively splash the floral water on with the hands, or use a spray mister and allow it to dry on the skin naturally. This rosewater has a lovely smell and will be perfect for my hair. More than anything, I was delighted to find absolutely no plastic in the packaging at all! I had recently had a bad experience with another retailer when I bought rose water in glass bottles (knowing they are far better recyclable than plastic) but having it wrapped in loads of bubble wrap, which negated my intentions. The fact that this is also based in the UK means I will definitely purchase from you again. 🙂

  2. Suzie (verified owner)

I love this stuff! I bought the orange flower water and rose water and it works perfectly as both a cleanser and toner. I’ve noticed my skin feels and looks a lot better.

  6. Jas (verified owner)

This rosewater is the best and most natural you can find. We use it a lot and love it. It smells beautiful too and works wonders on my lips and as a general cleanser and toner. I couldn’t understand how anyone would give this product any less than 5 stars, but on closer inspection it seems lower star ratings were not based on the quality of the product but at annoyances with the EU rules or rating without using the product yet.

  7. R

I’ve been using your rose water product for over 4 months now and was really pleased with the product. Devastated to know that you cannot sell it anymore without altering the formulation/ recipe!

I do not understand the need for floral water to be anit-microbial – these recipes have been there for ages and used by several generations with no side effect/s.

These EU regulations are getting stringent to a point that it is actually creating a negative effect on consumers.

  8. Cici (verified owner)
