A traditional beech wood and natural fibre Vegetable Brush for effectively scrubbing vegetables clean. Incorporating two types of fibre: tampico and union, the brush has softer and firmer bristled ends, for cleaning thinner skinned or even very muddy vegetables without causing damage. The point on the nose of the brush is great for shifting dried cakes of mud.
I been testing this brush for a year now and although the wood is a bit greyer, the bristles show no sign of wear and I expect it to go on for much longer. I haven’t used any soap with this brush – just water.
If my vegetables are going to be eaten raw in salads, I then soak them in a bowl of water containing soapnut liquid for 10 minutes and then rinse them with cold water.
The brushes are German made and use sources of materials which are both sustainable and ethical.
