Books on Clay

Clay Cure Natural Healing from the Earth by Ran Knishinsky; The safe and effective way to detoxify. aid digestion . relieve nausea . treat allergies . counteract poisoning . and much more. A small but surprisingly comprehensive introduction to clay therapy, covering topics such as eating clay during pregnancy, IBS, weight loss or gain.

Clay Cures: Natures Miracle for the New Age, by Musafir, A. & Chazot, P. This again, is a very good introductory book, which covers several interesting clay cures.

Earth Cures: A Handbook of Natural Medicine for Today, by the great French Naturopath Raymond Dextreit and the Herbalist Michel Abehsera. This is one of my favourite books. The authors give their expert advise on using healing herbs, fruits, juices, vitamins. minerals, lotions, poultices, masks, pomades, spices and clay. While clay supports nearly every body system, together herbs and foods fine tune each other. The book is laid out according to the systems of the body, lungs, skin, digestive etc and also briefly covers caring for pets with clay. One of the overarching principles explained in this book are that, ‘good elimination is as important as good nutrition. Overall an excellent summary of French based research, anecdotes in English!

The Healing Clay Power of Clay: The Natural Remedy for Dozens of Common Ailments. Michael Abehsera describes how to use clay to treat a range of maladies, including headaches, allergies, arthritis, cuts, bruises, burns, acne and anemia. You will also find ways to make clay part of your beauty regime.

Water

Living Water Victor Schauberger &  the Secrets of Natural Energy by Olof Alexandersson. This is the story of a pioneering Austrian naturalist and iconoclast who pointed the way to a completely new understanding of the vast potential of natural energy and a way of understanding the qualities and potential health benefits of water. This book was a compelling read and has left me a little awestruck!

Health using Clay, Herbs and other Natural Resources

Wild Health: how Animals Keep Themselves Well and What We Can Learn from Them by Cindy Engel. Every page of this book was fascinating. It was here that I learned that it is thought that all wild herbivores eat clay. I make sure that I tell this to all human vegetarians and vegans!
